What is in the Alumier BHA 20 Chemical Peel?
The Alumier BHA 20 Facial Peel is formulated with 20% Salicylic Acid. This neutralizable Facial Peel is kept on the skin for as long as 20 minutes to allow the solution to penetrate the dead skin cells. The Salicylic Acid penetrates the pores in the skin to exfoliate and push out the dead skin cells, dirt, and debris to improve acne, congestion, and reduce oil production. During this process, the micro-injury to the skin also encourages the skin to produce collagen and elastin to soften the appearance of acne scarring, texture, and enlarged pores.
Salicylic Acid: derived from the bark of white willow or it can be synthetically made in a lab. Unlike any other acid Salicylic acid is oil soluble, making it the best acid for treating acne and congestion. The use of Salicylic acid is often formulated with other Chemical exfoliants or used with retinol products to increase the efficacy of this ingredient to deliver better results.

The BHA 20 Facial Peel is a spicier peel because Salicylic Acid penetrates deeper into the skin in order to push out dirt, debris, and bacteria from inside the pores of the skin, The sensation of this peel is described as an itching sensation accompanied by an intense warmth. This sensation last longer than AHA Peels but it does dissipate slightly as the solution remains on the skin for anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes. When the Chemical Peel solution is neutralized the sensation will be enhanced for a moment and then it will slowly dissipate again. The BHA 20 Peel is tolerated well as the uncomfortable sensation only lasts for a few moments. On average this Peel ranks a 4/10 on a tolerability scale! ( 1 (very tolerable, can’t even feel it!) 10 (this is painful, please get this off of my face!) )
